Sushi Fumi is a quaint outlet that serves some delicious Japanese cuisine. Service staff are welcoming and courteous. We sat at the counter and the chefs were very attentive to our needs and service was always with a smile.

We ordered several signature dishes and also sushi rolls. The signature dishes of dressed sashimi were really tasty and kept keeping you going for more. The sushi rolls were just as flavourful and bite sized which was easy to manage in one mouthful. However, in my opinion the cut sushi rolls were too small in size.

The quality of the fish used in their signature dishes could be better as I felt the quality was only 2nd grade.

Overall a very delightful experience.

Sushi Fumi has earned itself a spot as an LA staple. The food is great but not out of this world, the service is attentive but edges on too fast-paced and the atmosphere is energetic but possibly a little too loud. That being said, the quality of the fish is top notch and the creative dishes are worth trying even for the nigiri-only crowd. Would recommend sitting at the sushi bar if possible for the best experience.
Didn’t refill waters but extremely quick to clear plates.

Absolutely ridiculously tiny portions for the price, albeit the fish was fresh

The soft shell crab tempura, kid you not, was not even a full crab. Just two leg quarters.

There are way better options in LA.

Pictured below is $9 a piece for toro. Cmon. Pinky sized

This was just close by the Sofitel Hotel and what a gem it is!
Went on a Monday around 6pm and there was not much of a wait. Had to put our names on the waiting list but we waited around as we had an international number and didn’t want to miss our spot.
The wait was around 5 -7 mins which was good!
They have a bar you can sit round to eat watching the sushi chefs do their thing. We got seated in between others which was a cozy environment.
Staff were attentive and friendly.
We ordered the Dragn rolls, Rainbow rolls, salmon avocado rolls, salmon sashimi and 2 Asahi draft beers. Love how the sashimi just melted in my mouth.
Total bill was around $84 (not including tip yet)
Was well worth the price! Would definitely visit again next time I am in Beverly Hills!
Thank you Sushi Fumi for a great experience!

Instantly became my favorite sushi places in LA! Fresh and quality sushi at an affordable price, strongly recommend seared yellowtail belly, sweet shrimp(ama ebi) and sea urchin(from San Diego) sushi- Moon roll was pretty impressive, too 🙂
**note: they don’t take reservations, you may want to avoid 5:30pm-7:00pm as the lines are usually very long
